Mobile Gaming - Stick Cricket Premier League

Otherwise known as 'what I've been helping out with for the past few months'.

Indeed; I've been a Production Intern at Stick Sports for the past two-and-a-bit months. They've made such popular mobile games as Stick Cricket, Stick Tennis and Stick Cricket Super Sixes, and last week they unveiled the first release of their newest addition - Stick Cricket Premier League.

Stick Cricket Premier League. Complete with corporate sponsorship.

Like Stick Cricket, it distills the fun parts of cricket into one game (in other words, you're chiefly occupied with smacking the ball as far as you can). Unlike Stick Cricket, it's a career game; you're the captain of a local Indian team who gets five seasons to prove to the former Bollywood star owner that you've got what it takes to lead his team to victory.

You can hire up to four Star Players for your team. Or you can save all your earnings and go bribing. Your in-game money; your choice.

It's a brutal five seasons, too; you'll have just ten overs to slay the opposition, and the run targets you have to beat can soar as high as 250. Luckily for you, there are things you can buy to make life a little easier. From Star Batsmen who'll hit harder and get higher runs, to Bowlers and bowling coaches who will reduce the opposition's run rate, there are several things to help you achieve victory. If you're the cheating scumbag type, you might also find a shady character hanging around the Season Home screen who'll help you out as well.

Hmm. Guess I'll have to go down the 'cheating scumbag' route.

Of course, you can spend your own real money if you like, and buy Stick Dollars to let you obtain the best for your team as early as possible. However, the owner will give you a helping hand at the end of each season and cough up some dough; coupled with the appearance fees and bonuses you win for hitting sixes, patience, and some strategic purchasing decisions, you can still achieve victory.

Or, if you're me, you can lose. Badly.

Stick Cricket Premier League is available for download on Google Play for Android, and an iOS version is coming soon for all you Apple types.

See that 'Project Support' credit? That's me, that is.
